I often wonder if anything brings a sense of calm and purpose more than creativity. The calm creative is someone that has the ability to center themselves. To find the “flow” of creativity requires a true sense of calm.
Think about it. A calm creative is a purpose-driven maker of things. How often have you found that sense of inner serenity. Your creativity just flows from a place of thought. Of heart and purpose.
A place of inner tranquility.
I find that I get into a mood, a state of true focus when I’m drawing. What’s better, the ability to come from a place of pure purpose and focus, is truly liberating.
The ultimate freedom.
“Many a calm river begins a turbulent waterfall, yet none hurtles and foams all the way to the sea.”
The point of practicing your craft is about finding that place, that head space, that brings you a sense of true focus. It crosses over into everything you do. Trust me.
Stay creative. Find that place that brings you true joy. There is no better place.
